Pricing

Clear commercial terms, agreed before any work begins

We don't publish a price list, because two projects that sound the same can differ widely in effort. Instead, here is how each way of working is priced, and what drives the number up or down.

Ways to work with us

Pick the model that matches how certain your requirements are. Many clients start with one, such as an assessment or a fixed-price phase, and move to another as the work matures.

  • Common starting point

    Fixed-Price Projects

Best for: a clearly defined scope with a firm deadline

For work that can be specified up front — a business website, a landing page, a defined e-commerce build — we agree the scope, deliverables, and acceptance criteria in writing, then quote a single fixed price.

    What's included

    • Written scope and deliverables document
    • Fixed price agreed before work begins
    • Milestone-based delivery schedule
    • Defined revision rounds within scope
    • Handover documentation

    How it's priced

Price is set by scope, page or feature count, integrations, and content readiness. Changes outside the agreed scope are quoted separately before any work continues.

  • Common starting point

    Custom Software Development

Best for: business systems with evolving or complex requirements

For CRM, ERP, inventory, booking, or management systems where the requirements will sharpen as the project progresses. We plan in phases so value is delivered early and priorities can be adjusted with evidence rather than guesswork.

    What's included

    • Discovery and requirements analysis
    • Solution architecture and data modelling
    • Phased delivery with reviewable increments
    • Integration with your existing systems
    • Testing, documentation, and team training

    How it's priced

Typically priced per delivery phase or as an agreed monthly capacity. Discovery is usually a separate, smaller engagement that produces the information needed to quote the build accurately.

  • E-Commerce Implementation

Best for: launching or replacing an online store

Storefront build on Shopify, WooCommerce, or a custom platform, including product structure, payment and shipping setup, and the integrations your operation depends on.

    What's included

    • Platform selection and configuration
    • Theme build or customisation
    • Product catalogue structure and import
    • Payment, tax, and shipping setup
    • Order, inventory, and fulfilment integration

    How it's priced

Depends on catalogue size, the number of integrations, whether a theme is customised or built from scratch, and migration work from an existing store.

  • Monthly Maintenance & Support

Best for: keeping a live system healthy and current

An ongoing arrangement covering updates, monitoring, backups, security patching, and a defined allowance of changes each month — so a working system stays working.

    What's included

    • Dependency and security updates
    • Uptime and error monitoring with alerting
    • Backup verification
    • A monthly allowance of small changes
    • Regular performance and health reporting

    How it's priced

A monthly retainer sized to the number of systems, their criticality, and the response time you need. Larger changes are quoted separately.

  • Consulting & Technical Assessments

Best for: a decision that needs evidence before commitment

Focused engagements that answer a specific question: is this architecture sound, where are the security weaknesses, why is performance poor, and what should we do next. Delivered as findings with prioritised recommendations.

    What's included

    • Scoped review of the agreed area
    • Findings documented by severity and impact
    • Prioritised, costed remediation recommendations
    • Walkthrough with your team
    • Optional follow-on implementation

    How it's priced

Priced as a fixed-scope engagement based on the size of the system under review and the depth of analysis required.

  • Ongoing Development Partnership

Best for: continuous product development without hiring in-house

An extension of your team on a retained basis — planning, building, and improving your product continuously instead of through one-off projects. Suits businesses that ship regularly and need steady capacity.

    What's included

    • Agreed monthly development capacity
    • Participation in your planning cycle
    • Architecture and technical guidance
    • Continuous delivery and release management
    • Monthly reporting against agreed priorities

    How it's priced

A monthly retainer for agreed capacity, reviewed periodically against priorities. Scales up or down with notice so you are not locked into a fixed team size.

What determines the cost

“It depends” is only useful if you know what it depends on. These six factors account for almost all of the difference between one quote and another.

  • Scope and complexity

The number of distinct features, user roles, and business rules a system must handle. Two systems with the same screen count can differ greatly in effort.

  • Integrations

Each connection to an existing system — payments, accounting, ERP, CRM, shipping — adds design, testing, and failure-handling work.

  • Design requirements

Whether a design system already exists, or the interface needs to be designed from scratch and made accessible across every breakpoint.

  • Data migration

Moving and cleaning existing records from spreadsheets or a legacy system is often the least visible and most underestimated part of a project.

  • Security and compliance needs

Regulated data, audit trails, penetration testing, and hardened access control carry real engineering time.

  • Timeline and phasing

A compressed deadline usually requires more parallel work. A phased approach spreads cost and lets earlier phases inform later ones.

From inquiry to kick-off

How you get from a first message to a written proposal

The scoping conversation is free and carries no obligation to proceed.

  1. 1

    Send your requirements

Use the project inquiry form to describe what you need. Rough is fine — the more context you give, the more useful our first response will be.

  2. 2

    Scoping conversation

A call to clarify the problem, constraints, existing systems, and what success looks like. No charge, and no obligation to proceed.

  3. 3

    Written proposal

You receive the recommended approach, scope, delivery phases, assumptions, and commercial shape in writing, so you can compare options properly.

  4. 4

    Agreement and kick-off

Once the proposal is agreed, we confirm the schedule, communication rhythm, and points of contact, then begin with discovery.

Questions about cost

The questions we are asked most often before a proposal.

All frequently asked questions
How much does a project cost?

Every project is quoted individually, because cost depends on scope, complexity, integrations, and timeline rather than a standard price. After we understand what you need, we provide a written quote with the work broken down so you can see what drives the cost. Where a budget is fixed, we can shape the scope to fit it and identify what to defer to a later phase.

What affects the cost of a project?

The main factors are the number of user roles and workflows involved, how much custom design and development is required, how many third-party systems need integrating, whether data has to be migrated from existing tools, and any compliance or security requirements. Content preparation, testing, and the level of ongoing support also influence the total. We flag cost drivers early so there are no surprises later.

How are payments structured?

Payments are normally staged against agreed milestones rather than paid entirely up front, and the exact schedule is set out in the proposal. Ongoing support and maintenance are usually billed monthly. All amounts, currencies, and terms are confirmed in writing before work starts.
